5dive update --check — read-only version probe (no root, no mutation) that reports {current, latest, behind, stale, lastUpdateOk, lastUpdateAt}. The stale flag is true only when the box is behind and the nightly auto-update isn't closing the gap (failed, never ran, or overdue past ~36h), so it won't flag a box that's merely a release behind with a healthy nightly. Powers the dashboard maintenance "your CLI is out of date — update now" banner.
