Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using ReleasePort ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Faymere LLC.

2. Description of service

ReleasePort is a release-tracker and feed-aggregation service that allows users to track open-source and commercial software tools, receive AI-summarised release notes processed locally on our servers, and follow a personalised feed of software updates.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account. Authentication is via magic link — no password is required or stored.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
  • You may not create accounts for others without their permission.
  • You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Danger Zone.

4. Beta access and plans

ReleasePort is currently in public beta. During the beta period, the Service is provided at no charge. We intend to introduce paid plans in the future. When paid plans are launched, we will notify existing users with reasonable advance notice. We reserve the right to modify plan features and pricing at that time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to scrape, harvest, or extract data at scale without prior written permission from Faymere LLC.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its systems, or infrastructure.
  • Submit false, misleading, or malicious tool listings.
  • Use the Service in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercialise access to the Service without prior written permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

6. Intellectual property

Release notes and tool metadata are sourced from third-party repositories (such as GitHub) and are subject to their respective licences. AI-generated summaries produced by ReleasePort are provided for informational purposes only and we make no warranty as to their accuracy. ReleasePort's own UI, branding, and original code are owned by Faymere LLC.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS. AI-GENERATED SUMMARIES MAY CONTAIN ERRORS OR OMISSIONS.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FAYMERE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL FAYMERE LLC'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in activity harmful to other users or the Service, or if required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you unless prohibited by law or where notification would compromise security.

You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Wyoming.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice.
