Summary

AI summary

Upgrade steps for bash/zsh/fish and PowerShell, enhanced palette generator spanning full 24‑bit color space, and guaranteed unique palettes in star explore.

Full changelog

Changes

  • Palette generator now spans the full 24-bit color space, giving roughly 2 × 10⁴³ unique rocket palettes (up from ~842K in v1.3.0). Random rolls feel noticeably more varied.
  • Theme-aware visibility: rolled palettes automatically avoid near-black on dark terminals and near-white on light terminals so colors always read clearly.
  • star explore now guarantees no duplicate palettes within a single run. Open star explore 5000 and every line will be unique.
  • Architectural cleanup of the VERSION file handling: scripts read/write VERSION at script-adjacent paths, with a consistent fetch URL of docs/VERSION on the repo. Fixes a self-update loop bug some beta testers ran into.

Upgrade

  • bash/zsh/fish: run star update
  • PowerShell: run iwr -useb https://raw.githubusercontent.com/clefspear/starcommand/main/powershell/install.ps1 | iex
