Full changelog
Patch release. Two real honesty drifts surfaced post-v4.2.0 publish, fixed here.
What changed
1. npm description truncation fixed
The local package.json.description for v4.2.0 was 264 chars ending …rolling out Q2 2026).; the npm registry hard-truncates description at 255 chars on publish, so the registry-stored copy ended …rolling out — the caveat was lost on every npm-consuming surface (npm search, npmjs.com package page, MCP Directory listing, registry mirrors).
Rewrote to 214 chars across package.json, server.json, glama.json:
Slack MCP without OAuth. 21 tools (16 read/write Slack + 2 workflow profile primitives + 3 hosted-brain upgrade stubs). Free OSS or hosted (free tier no card; $9/mo Pro = unlimited; morning DM rolling out Q2 2026).
Caveat preserved in compact form. No truncation.
2. v4.2.0 "Honest tradeoff" section rewritten
The v4.2.0 release notes' Honest tradeoff section was a feature catalog under an honesty header, not a tradeoff confession. v4.2.0 release page now ships the rewrite — name asymmetry both directions, drop "structurally cannot" overreach (Stripe billing isn't structural, it's commercial), split self-host bullet into v4.2.0 deltas vs v4.1.x carry-over with link, add "What hosted does NOT own yet" mini-bucket (token refresh = v4.1.3 territory), reframe v4.3.0 from cron-handler engineering memo to operator-value language. 220 words, tighter.
3. Hosted /status tool count corrected (separate deploy)
Companion fix on slack-mcp-hosted: paidAiToolCount: 4 → 3, totalToolCount: 18 → 17. The 4th was the morning DM, which isn't a tool — it's a scheduled job (still rolling out Q2 2026). Same caveat thesis. /status now returns {free: 14, paid: 3, total: 17}.
No code changes
This patch is metadata-only. v4.2.0's 21-tool surface is unchanged. Self-host install path is identical:
