Summary

AI summary

Redesigned AI chat UI, drag‑to‑reorder tabs, macOS close hides window instead of quitting, and restored tabs no longer show empty editors after relaunch.

Full changelog

Polish release focused on the desktop UX: AI chat flow, tab bar, and a couple of startup bugs.

Highlights

  • AI chat redesign — Chat panel and settings screen rebuilt; the tool list now reads as "tools available to the AI" instead of "features ready on the server," and scrolls with the shared overlay scrollbar.
  • Drag-to-reorder tabs — Drag tabs in the tab bar to reorder them. Mirrors the file-browser drag: 4 px threshold, floating preview, insertion indicator, edge auto-scroll while dragging.
  • Standard macOS window close — The red traffic-light button now hides the window instead of quitting; clicking the Dock icon brings it back. Use ⌘ Q to fully exit. ⌘ W closes a tab, and is a no-op when there are no tabs (no more accidental app quit).
  • Desktop UX polish — Slash menu, new-file focus, tab actions, panel resize UX, graph access, and shared menu surfaces all got a pass. Design tokens refreshed.

Fixes

  • Restored tabs no longer show an empty editor after relaunch. The editor was mounting before the vault finished opening, so the file-read command failed silently; the mount is now gated on both plugins and vault being ready.
  • Tabs persisted across sessions are now actually restored — openVault() used to wipe them on its happy path before reconcile had a chance to prune stale paths.

Notes

  • Self-hosters: infra/docker/prod/ PG_DATA was updated to match upstream postgres (postgres#1259).
