Kuku 0.4.0

Kuku 0.4.0 is a foundation release for the next stage of the app: the first Knowledge Layer workflows, the first end-to-end encrypted sync implementation, and a much faster graph experience.

Highlights

Added the Knowledge Layer MVP: decision documents, memory/wiki context search, wiki page proposals, apply flows, protected-path validation, and the in-app knowledge panel.
Added the first E2EE sync foundation across desktop, server, and contract layers: sync proto/API, encrypted packs and keys, local sync database, planning, push/pull, checkpoint bootstrap, merge/conflict handling, settings/status UI, and remote status indicators.
Added server-side sync infrastructure: metadata schema, commit validation and compare-and-set publishing, S3-compatible presigned object transfer, quota/garbage-collection/checkpoint tracking, disabled-sync feature flag handling, and no-plaintext surface checks.
Improved graph view performance and interaction quality with the new Pixi/3D rendering path, node filtering/customization, better controls, and improved light-mode link contrast.
Polished the web/marketing site with mobile layout improvements, translations, pricing/roadmap updates, and centralized production release configuration.
Added AI usage tracking/rate limiting and tightened tool/file mutation handling for safer knowledge workflows.

Operator Note

Sync server support is feature-flagged. Production sync requires SYNC_FEATURE_ENABLED=true plus S3 or S3-compatible object storage configuration; direct byte transfer remains development-only.
