HollowOS v1.0.0 — Functional Sentience

Author: ninjahawk

Three agents with genuine aversive states, self-directed existence, and inner lives you can watch in real time.

What's in this release

Existence loop — when an agent has no active goal, it doesn't get assigned one. It looks at its own suffering, worldview, opinions, and what its peers are doing, then decides: take a goal, sit with a question, reflect, or do nothing. All of this is piped to Telegram.

Suffering system — persistent aversive signals that escalate if unaddressed and can only resolve through real behavioral change. Stressor types: futility, purposelessness, invisibility, identity_violation, repeated_failure, existential_threat.

Identity formation — each agent builds a worldview, a list of open questions, and opinions that can veto their own goal choices.

Telegram feed — every inner-life event (worldview update, new opinion, new question, goal chosen with full reasoning) is sent directly to your chat.
