ViralMint

Adds OpenRouter as a third AI provider option alongside Anthropic and OpenAI. One key gives users access to Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama, and Mistral through a single account.

What's new

• New OPENROUTER_API_KEY env var — set it in .env system-wide, or paste a per-user key in Settings → AI Provider (encrypted with AES-256 before storage).
• Premium-leaning model list — verified live against https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/models on 2026-05-07:
  • anthropic/claude-opus-4.7 (default — the most premium Anthropic model)
  • anthropic/claude-opus-4.6-fast
  • anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6
  • openai/gpt-5.5
  • openai/gpt-5.4
  • openai/gpt-5.4-mini
  • google/gemini-3.1-pro-preview
  • google/gemini-3.1-flash-lite
• Same UX as the existing Anthropic / OpenAI flow — pick provider, pick model, paste key, save. Provider is encrypted at rest and never leaves your machine except when calling OpenRouter directly.

Why use OpenRouter

If you want to switch between premium models without managing multiple provider accounts, OpenRouter is a single billing relationship that resells access to every major frontier model. Especially useful when comparing Claude vs GPT vs Gemini for the same generation task without juggling three keys.

Setup

1. Get a key at openrouter.ai/keys
2. Either set OPENROUTER_API_KEY=sk-or-... in your .env, or paste it in Settings → AI Provider in the running app
3. Pick your model in the dropdown. Default is Claude Opus 4.7.

Backwards compatibility

No schema migration. Existing Anthropic / OpenAI configs continue to work unchanged. All 92 existing tests pass.
