Full changelog
SelfCertForge v0.1.0 🎉
The first public release of SelfCertForge — a desktop app for forging and managing local SSL/TLS certificates on macOS and Windows. No OpenSSL required.
What you can do
- Create root authorities. Generate trusted local root CAs with sensible defaults you can customize.
- Forge signed certificates. Issue child certificates for
localhost, custom DNS names, or IPs — wildcards and SANs included. - Install into your trust store. One click to mark a root as trusted by your operating system.
- Export the way you need. PEM, KEY, and PFX bundles, ready to drop into your dev server, container, or load balancer.
- Set your defaults. Configure your default Subject DN, key size, hash algorithm, and validity periods once — every new cert is pre-filled.
- Stay current. Auto-updates run quietly in the background; the Settings page surfaces the install button when a new version is available.
Built for developers
- Native desktop app on macOS (Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
- Activity log so you can see what was created and when.
Getting started
Download the installer for your platform, run it, and you're ready to forge your first self-signed certificates.
