Full changelog

soulsync 3.1.7 — devmain

chat turns into a place you actually hang out — a shared room jukebox, file sharing, polls, pins, slash commands. plus the hifi failover fix and a version + disc aware track repair.

the room jukebox

listen to music together in any chat room. paste a youtube link or search, the room votes on what plays next, and everyone who tunes in hears the same track at the same spot. no server runs it — every soulsync client reduces the same hidden message stream to the same queue, so it stays in sync on its own.

  • votes pick the next song, ties and no-vote rounds fall back to first-in-line
  • vote to skip the current track (majority of listeners)
  • thumbnails everywhere, a now-playing card with a progress bar, and an "up next" highlight
  • recently played with one-click requeue, pull your own submission back out
  • audio only toggle (kills the video, keeps the sound) + a local volume slider
  • auto-dj: flip it on and when the queue runs dry it keeps the music going with related tracks

more chat

  • file sharing via filepost.dev — upload a file or pick a track from your library, drop the link in chat as a rich card you can preview inline
  • polls — ask the room a question, live vote bars, starter closes it
  • pinned messages — 📌 any message to a shared board (a popover in the room head)
  • room topic, typing indicators, and listening presence (♫ next to whoever's tuned into the jukebox)
  • slash commands/play /skip /tune /topic /poll /pin /gif /shrug with autocomplete
  • the chat modals got rebuilt to match soulsync's actual design instead of the old flat gray

fixes

  • hifi failover (#1073, thanks Lain2077): hifi requests that hit a rate limit or a blocked instance now rotate to another instance instead of just failing, the way the monochrome instances do
  • track repair, version + disc aware (#1075, thanks Lain2077): repair used to strip "(Why Us? Version)"-style qualifiers before matching, so different versions of the same song looked identical and it grabbed the wrong disc's copy — the full title breaks ties now. multi-disc repairs also write the disc tag (so per-disc numbering can't create duplicate track numbers), and the proposed change tells you when a number is disc-relative, like "track number: 1 → 10 (disc 2 of 3)"

heads up: after this, multi-disc albums missing disc tags will show new Track Repair findings — that's the fix making sure the whole album gets tagged.
