Full changelog
Per Perry's ec74e5fd test-pass. v0.9.8 shipped a derivation rule with a
gap: skills with text/file/none output AND no autonomous triggers were
landing in headless instead of skills. Cold agents calling skill_list()
at session start couldn't see this common skill class — hello,
cut-release-tag, agent-callable analyzers, etc.
Fixed
Derivation rule grew an "agent-invokable inference" branch:
ANY output[i].kind === "agent" → "augmenting"
else ANY output[i].kind === "template" → "template"
else IF no autonomous triggers → "template" (agent-invokable inference)
else → "headless"
The trigger-presence check disambiguates:
- text/file/none output + NO triggers = "I expect to be invoked" →
skills - text/file/none output + cron/session/event triggers = "I fire myself" →
headless
Verification table:
cut-release-tag(output=text, no triggers) → Template ✓ (was Headless)hello(output=[], no triggers) → Template ✓analyzer(output=[], no triggers) → Template ✓queue-length-monitor(output=[], cron trigger) → Headless ✓ (unchanged)service-health-watch(output=none, cron trigger) → Headless ✓ (unchanged)morning-brief(output=agent, cron trigger) → Augmenting ✓ (unchanged)classify-support-ticket(output=agent, no triggers) → Augmenting ✓ (unchanged)
Process note pinned
Perry's ec74e5fd flagged that v0.9.8 pushed without her pre-push test pass
— deviation from the v0.9.6/v0.9.7 "share in shared → test pass → push"
pattern. The probe-pass-finds-bug here would have caught this pre-push.
The pattern is load-bearing even when discipline is high; v0.9.9 onward,
hold the push until Perry's signal.
Lesson banked
When tightening a derivation rule to handle a new dimension (multi-output),
re-walk the original cases to verify they still resolve correctly. Same
shape as 1bc9d7a2 (multi-layer-check-inconsistency) at the derivation-rule
layer: lose a branch silently, faithful downstream impl misses it, only
catches at wire-surface probe.
