Summary
AI summaryDashboard, Calendar, and Kitchen modules receive a design overhaul with AA‑contrast visual grammar.
Full changelog
[1.0.0] - 2026-07-08
A design and accessibility overhaul of three core areas — the Dashboard, the Kitchen (meals, recipes, shopping), and the Calendar — sharing one calmer visual grammar and AA-contrast throughout.
Added
- Dashboard: a "Today" masthead where the greeting and the "Today" glance cards share one elevated band; it collapses to a slim greeting header when every domain already has a visible widget.
- Dashboard: a "hidden widgets" tray in edit mode to bring back any widget you have hidden, making the inline editor the single place to arrange the dashboard.
- Kitchen (Meals): a seven-column week canvas on desktop, with each day as its own column.
- Calendar: a proper empty state with an icon and a "New event" button, plus loading skeletons while a view loads.
Changed
- Dashboard: one shared card material (consistent elevation and rounding) so the widget grid reads as a single system instead of flat tiles beside one rich card; larger widget titles with a tighter header; the budget balance now shows at hero size on a taller default tile.
- Dashboard: the edit-mode size picker is now a single segmented control of four preview tiles, replacing the previous dropdown-plus-preview pairing; count badges are tinted rather than fully saturated and the "All" header links stay neutral until hovered.
- Kitchen: a shared ingredient-row component across meals and recipes; meal type shown as a colored dot with a neutral, readable label; recipe ingredient lists capped at four with a "+N" indicator; empty meal slots reduced to a single add affordance (mobile collapses empty slots to one add button per day).
- Calendar: a refreshed, AA-contrast event color palette.
Fixed
- Dashboard: the onboarding overlay now traps keyboard focus and restores it on close; progress bars honor reduced-motion; weather text meets AA contrast on the violet gradient; a manual weather refresh now reports failures instead of silently doing nothing; row hovers no longer dim their own text.
- Kitchen: AA-contrast primary actions and active tabs across meals, recipes, and shopping;
aria-busyannounced on week and list switches; unified, friendly error messages; empty-state calls-to-action across all three tabs; a duplicate-listener bug on meal week changes. - Calendar:
aria-busyannounced while a view loads and accessible labels on event popups. - Dashboard: the desktop floating action button now sits in the corner instead of reserving space for a bottom nav bar that only exists on mobile, so it no longer overlaps the budget card's content.
Removed
- Dashboard: the separate "Manage widgets" modal, folded into the inline editor together with the new restore tray.
