ReleasePort's take
Light signalv7.20.11 expands local memory discovery to automatically cover system roots, mounted volumes, and drive roots. Configured roots remain additive, and product artifacts are excluded.
Why it matters: Automatic discovery now covers system volumes and mounted drives; configured roots remain additive. Test in dev to verify expected coverage with your filesystem layout.
Summary
AI summaryAutomatic local‑memory evidence injection now includes real system volumes and mounted drives across platforms.

Full changelog
[7.20.11] - 2026-05-13
Fixed — local memory whole-device coverage and automatic evidence injection
- Default local-memory discovery now starts from real system volume roots and mounted drives. Brain covers
/on macOS/Linux plus mounted/removable/network volumes and Windows drive roots, while privacy rules skip system folders, caches, app bundles, dependency trees, secrets and product artifacts. - Configured local-memory roots are additive, not a replacement. Advanced/root overrides no longer disable automatic disk, mounted-volume or local-email discovery unless the explicit default-root disable flag is used.
- NEXO Desktop/QA product bundles are filtered out of local evidence. Packaged
brain-bundleand NEXO Desktop app artifacts are skipped so queries like project/client names do not return installer internals. - Local context is injected automatically before work, not only when an agent remembers to search.
nexo_heartbeat,nexo_task_openandnexo_pre_action_contextnow include local-memory evidence and relevant excerpts when the current user/task text matches indexed files. - Coverage: local-context, pre-action, heartbeat/task-open context, local-index runtime, cron and Windows WSL suites pass (
98 passed) plus targeted checks for system/root exclusions, additive roots and automatic excerpt injection.
